Yesterday was a complete lost with the rain, but today was the exact opposite, perfect weather for outdoor activities. Our donation booth was ready to open at noon. As the day went, people kept coming and coming into the event. We were giving away origami items with any amount of donation. We had a great success. After almost 5 hours of hard work, we are happy to announce our total fundraising amount is $2894.72
昨日の悪天候とは正反対の晴天に恵まれた本日、
予定通り正午にブースをオープンしました。
kite festに次々と訪れる人たちに寄付を呼びかけ、折り紙を渡し、
5時間後には$2894.72の寄付金を集めることができました。

We would like to thank you Cincinnati Public Radio Inc for your generous booth donation to this event. You had given us a great opportunity to reach out to the community and be part of this Kite Fest.  And for everyone who made a donation to our event. You have all made an impact in rebuilding Japan. These money will definitely help so many people.

We also want to thank you all of the 70 moms and your families who helped preparing origami for this event. We really appreciate everything.  Also to all the volunteers from these past two days, rain or shine, you were there with us. We can't do without your help.

We also wanted to thank you Merten Company for donating their time and money for our banner. It was a very nice display tool for our event. Thank you.

***Due to the rain cancellation of yesterday's event, we still have plenty of origami left, so we are looking for another event in the near future, hoping to raise more money and not to waste all the origami work. If any of you has suggestion or connection to any event/ location that might benefit out fundraising event, please e-mail us at cincinnatiorigamiproject@gmail.com We definitely need your help.

We will be sending this money out to a special relief account in Consulate General of Japan in Detroit very soon. They will then transfer 100% of the money directly to Japanese Red Cross Society in Japan.
