This morning weather forecast- "scattered shower, but no wash out rain, partly sunny, high 75 degree"....
But reality- "non stop raining during the afternoon, almost no sun, high only 65 degree probably". So were all the meteorologists talking about the same Cincinnati location??
Anyway, after waiting for 5 hours at the location (in a shelter with all the Kite Fest staffs), no sun in sight, everywhere is wet, all we can do is to go home and hope for better weather tomorrow. Weather forecast for tomorrow (so far)- "warm, high 85 degree, WINDY". Might be perfect for kite fest, let's hope the origami cranes won't actually fly away...
Thank you so much for all the volunteer booth helpers, sorry that you have to wait for a long time and some of you even have to turn around and drove home. We really appreciate for all your time.
Though we couldn't set up our booth today, but we met many nice people at the location. We are really thankful for the Kite Fest organizer- Cincinnati Public Radio Inc for their booth donation. Let's hope people will come out tomorrow and support this fun event and our donation booth as well. We all need your encouragement. We have a great intention for the fundraising, we have a great team of volunteers, we have a great community, we can still make a great impact together.

気象予報士が話していたのは本当にシンシナティのことだったの？
と思ってしまうくらい予報が大きく外れ、激しく雨に降られた一日でした。
私達運営チームは5時間シェルターにて待機したあとに、
ブース周辺が雨で大変濡れていて折り紙を販売できないと判断し撤収しました。
今のところ明日の予報は晴れのようです。
しかし風がとても強いとのこと、折り紙が飛んでしまわないように祈ります。
本日会場ボランティアシフトだった皆様、長時間待機のうえ
結局お帰りいただく形になってしまい本当に申し訳ありませんでした。
午後からのシフトの方も、本日予定を空けていただいたにもかかわらず
それが無駄になってしまい本当に心苦しく感じております。
本日ブースの設置は出来ませんでしたが、
親切なカイトフェスト運営チームの方たちとお話することができました。
Cincinnati Public Radioからのブースの寄付にも心より感謝いたします。
今日の分も取り戻せるように、明日はたくさんの人がブースに訪れてくれることを
願います。被災地に向けての募金活動のため快くヘルプを申し出てくださった
ボランティアの方たち、そして運営チームによって心から呼びかければ
日本に向けての大きな力になれると信じています。
イベント後の募金結果によっては、
2週間後に別な場所でのチャリティーイベントも検討しています。
